Plot: Po the Panda is the laziest animals in all of the Valley of Peace, but unwittingly becomes the chosen one when enemies threaten their way of life.
Entertaining. Nice animation. Fun action scenes. Made me laugh. That's about all I have to say about this one.
I thought this movie was boring, but it caught my attention from the start to the end. I like how the Chinese traditions and belief were featured in the movie.
I can watch it over and over again.
The plot is basic and the gags are average, but the visuals and kung fu sequences are superb, making this another fantastic offering from Dreamworks
this was soooooo much better than i expected. it was cute and funny and oh goodness. it was the best animation movie i have seen in a long time.
good the first couple times, starts to lose its flare the 3rd time...i cant believe they chose angelina jolie to do the voice of the tiger, you think they would have chosen someone with a more prominate voice....You cant see her heeving breast or her signature lips in it...WHATS THE POINT!
I loved this movie and I didn't think I would. The animation is beautiful. The action sequences really capture the feel of a more traditional Kung Fu movie. The voice work is excellent, esp. from Jack Black, who gives a real sweetness to Po. Plus, I love pandas.
This movie actually turned out to be awesome! It has amazing action sequences mixed in with Jack Blacks funny ego! A must see!
have not seen it but......
should be very nice
(my mum don't let me watch hehe)
for those who watched it tell me more about it
PLS
thanks
:D
A very likable movie from Dreamworks.
I would say its on par with Sherk and with a great array of vocal talents on display the comic timing is done very well.
Also great visuals effects on display here with the fight sence making it a impressive computer animated cartoon since....well the first Toy Story!
The animation style was visually pleasing, I will admit that. Alas, I had two rather big issues with this film: I don't like Jack Black as a voice actor that much, and I didn't really like the panda. It strikes me that these two things may indeed be related.
The message is fine, but I found Po's assent from incompetent to master a little too quick. My favorite characters were by far the Furious Five, but they were essentially relegated to bit parts.
Clearly they spent a fortune on voice actors, and I have to give credit, I was surprised to find who was actually in this film during the credits (Angelina Jolie? Dustin Hoffman? Jackie Chan?). The fight scenes were fine and entertaining, save for, you guessed it, the panda. I suspect that I am an aberration, but Jack Black's voice acting really held this movie back for me. Still worth watching.
i totaly loved kung fu panda! it was so origional and it was as funny as anything iv ever heard or seen........
top rating from me.
Surprisingly more enjoyable than I expect ... plenty of laughs and as a parody of Kungfu, somehow it felt that this Panda got the essence of old school kungfu fighting and invokes memories of old Jackie Chan Kungfu Flicks ... where he played the martial arts wanna be ... but sadly his role here won't be that memorable
la mejor pelicula q he visto ultimamente.. claro xq la vi junto a mi amor y ella em dijo q parezco el panda jejeje!!!!
When I Saw the preview for this movie it didnt catch my attention at all. But I thought Id Make an Exception and Watch it, Since I heard it wasnt that bad, and they were actually right, the movie is predictable but nice and warm... not that funny but still worth the time.
good, some parts odd, but thats jus the ancient kung fu stuff, besides that good. all animations r good of course
Good film...and yeh had me chuckling in a few scene's but abit disappointed really. Was hoping to be in stitches of laughter...but what can ya do eh??? :P
I didn't recognise half of the characters voices only Jack Black of course and Angelina Jolie.
Well, all in all not a bad film.
Honestly when I saw the first previews for this film, I thought I?d skip it all together. It didn?t look good, didn?t seem fresh in any way. But my son hadn?t seen a movie in theaters in a few months, so we we?re dying to take him to anything. Maybe it was my low expectations, but I found myself truly enjoying Kung Fu Panda from beginning to end and actually came away thinking the film was a minor animation classic. It?s as good as, or better than some of the lesser Pixar films, and way better made than the Shrek or Ice Age films.
The film quickly brings you into this completely unique world, where all animal species live together in relative harmony. Where a duck raises a panda and that panda, named Po, dreams of becoming a kung-fu master. The animal kingdom lends itself well to the kung-fu styles, making the tiger, crane, snake, praying-mantis and monkey characters masters of each style named after them. Together they are the Furious Five. It is them that Po looks up and has dreams of one day joining. His father?s profession as a noodle maker, has no appeal. During a ceremony naming who will become the Dragon Master, Po stumbles his way into the path of the master Tortoise Oogway and is named the one who will unite the group, even though his kung-fu skills are extremely limited. It?s up to their leader Shifu to train Po to become a kung-fu master. Making things even more precarious, is a ferocious Panther, Tai Lung, who has just escaped the ultimate prison and is on his way to claim the title Dragon Master.
The scene where Tai Lung escapes the prison makes the film worth seeing on its own, he is such an incredible bad-ass that he has a prison all to himself, buried miles under the ground, surrounded by thousands of armed rhinos. His fight to get out, is some of the most impressive kung-fu ever brought to screen. The film is chalk full of wonderful fight scenes, that will impress the most die-hard of kung-fu fans, yet are gentle enough for little ones to enjoy. Although they may come away punching and kicking the air. The world the filmmakers have built is extremely gorgeous, modeled after ancient China. The most satisfying thing about the film, is that it's completely its own world, there are no pop-culture references to bring you out of the story, it?s a story that will remain timeless.
The one thing that may be a deal breaker for some people is Jack Black, he voices Po, who is in 95% of the film, with his character and humor being very much Jack Black. I for one enjoy his comedy stylings, so I really liked the character, but others might not. The voice work of the other characters is very well done, I especially like Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu and Ian McShane as Tai Lung. The rest of the Furious Five are recognizable voices, including Angelina Jolie as Tigress, but none are distracting, falling easily into character. Kung Fu Panda is an extremely well put together film, for an animated family film or not, it?s got elements for everyone and at the same time doesn?t stoop to making tasteless jokes that only adults will get. The film has a nice message about finding and believing in yourself, while also kicking some serious butt.

few chuckles along the way but nothing that jumped out at me and made me LOL. i did enjoy the references and how they tied in with the characters but was more of a monsters inc than a shrek.
KUNG FU PANDA (2008)
directed by Mark Osbourne & John Stevenson
featuring the voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina JolieThe opening sequence is worth the price of the ticket. Its a dream sequence looking like classical animation mixed with some manga style. Its very funny and colorful. Then the film begins, its looks like something we've seen before. A Panda who is supposed to be destined to make noodles cant tell his dad he'd prefer to do martial arts. Circumstances bring him to become the chosen one to fight an escaped tiger who knows more kung fu than Bruce Lee himself. Obviously our friend is clumsy, likes to eat and burp, driving other real kung fu master a little mad.Kung Fu Panda is a lot of fun, its a short film, which helps, its colorful and there are plenty of funny gags. My main problem was about too many childish moments, well, I know, its for kids, so I wont complain too long about that. There is a lot of talent behind the voices though and thats part of the main interest for this film, cause all the actors do great and its obviously they are having fun, even though we cant really see them. Kung Fu Panda is not a masterpiece of animation but its a film with no pretentions, it feels fresh despite its use of old themes, and there are some pretty amazing moment of animation. Couldnt ask for more to be entertained for a little over one hour. Not bad.
I love the story.. thought it was so funny. I liked it as much as my kids did. Even a fat panda can kick butt if he tries hard enough.
I've certainly seen worse children's movies. This had some very clever plays on the martial arts genre, as well as some not-so-clever ones... and the ending "twist" was complete nonsense. But very seldom was I annoyed with it, which is a huge step in an animated children's movie. Not a great movie (you're still better off renting something from Pixar) but not an awful one either.
Kung Fu Panda is Cute and funny. it has some really good quotes, The PANDA was Adorable, after all, they're the cutest animal on earth, well! one of the cutest.
i dont really like Kung Fu much and thats the reason why i didnt like it much, but after all, its pretty nice movie..
The graphics are amazing and the most amazing thing movie has is the quotes as they're memorable. Kung Fu Panda is a movie about a lazy panda who wants to do something better with his life then to end up being at the kitchen, but he is so lazy, but as he gets the opportunity to make his dreams come true, would he be able to? now thats the question.
Very nice movie for the kids.

This movie is AWESOME. It reeks of awesomeness! One of my favorite animated kung-fu movies! Po was hilarious (i could see Jack Black in him) and adorable and pudgy and fun and adorable! I was impressed by the other celebrities who voiced the other characters. I loved the moral and message it had, especially Master Oogway's (the turle sage) quote. The storyline is great, the animation is amazing, and the kung-fu action was cool. GET READY TO FEEL THE THUNDA!!!
