A delightfully overdone martial arts film from Japan, this guilty pleasure features a beautiful high school girl who is maimed and tortured by the members of a sadistic Yakuza family while seeking revenge for the murder of her brother. What else can you say about a movie involving insane martial arts sequences, buckets of gore, overdone special effects, and a heroine whose left arm ends in a machine gun?

This film is an insane gorefest and can be likened to the rather brutal revenge/exploitation films of the 70's as well as some FPS games (the style of the shoot-outs). The violence is gratuitous and ludicrous, the characters are caricatures, and nearly everyone under 30 is really pretty (at least one of women is a porn star). -

From the creators that will soon enough bring "Tokyo Gore Police" to your home theater, take a look at the already R1 DVD arrival of "The Machine Girl", a totally twisted and non-stop action flick that'll leave you flooded to a warp of laughter. Directed by Noboru Iguchi, this film packs a bloody punch while at the same time introducing a lovely Japanese gravure idol by the name of Minase Yashiro who guns down - Japanese equivalent to the mafia - Yakuza perpetrators for nothing more and nothing less then indisputable retribution. Let us not forget Yoshihiro Nishimura for lending a hand with some outstanding pre-gore before his "Tokyo is Burning" sensation in the special effects division by slashing a finger or two along with body parts galore.

Along the way she is captured, tortured, and left for death. What follows is a testament to the indefatigability of the human spirit; and illustrates that determination can overcome the most seemingly insurmountable of challenges. In the lead role, Asami gives a finely nuanced performance, conveying both the vulnerability and passion of her character. Oh, did I mention that she has a machine gun for an arm? silly me, well she does. Absolutely essential over the top gorefest arms, legs, heads are severed, hands are deep fried, fingers are eaten, eyeballs gouged and all involved are doused in literally hundreds of gallons of fake blood. My personal favourite is the matriarch of the evil family whose deadly Drill Bra (patents pending) proves a formidable challenge for our eponymous heroine. This ones never going to be nominated for a Palme dOr, but what it lacks in well, just about everything, it makes up in spades of enthusiasm.

Excellent flick! I was very impressed and will be hunting down more stuff from this director/ writer. Hilarious over-the-top arterial spray scenes. The only down side to it is that there are a few too may sentimental moments.

É difícil explicar a beleza de um filme splatter com atuaçőes tăo terríveis quanto esse, mas ele é belo.
A cena do "drill bra" é em sí uma coisa de diversăo infinta.
É claro que eu năo recomendo a pessoas que se enjoam com sangue falso jorrando e năo entendem a poesia de uma menina com um braço-metralhadora que tira pedaços de pessoas como se estivesse descascando-as. -

nonsense violence. another killbill-like bloody revenge story but more close to Rodriguez's nonsense mivies. in spite of killbill that was full of love and sympathy this movie cant even get close to any high human quality. the characters are ridiculous and u cant help puking on their cheesy dialogues!
but something that drew my attention was that how many Heroines we have got lately! it remindes me of Jennifer Saunders's (shrek ST) song, where are all the Heros gone and where are all the gods! overall its not a movie which is worth watching but i realy like the last fighting scene where the girl wants to get rid of the mother and the son. the flashing light was completely suitable. -

Definitely can't take this movie seriously, but that seems to be common with Japanese action films. Did enjoy it though don't really understand the opening scene as it doesn't seem to fit in anywhere in the rest of the film.

I saw half of this movie. Mostly because I was tired, I stopped watching it. This movie is not for everyone. The voices are dubbed and there's lots of blood and silly fighting scenes.

I would be hard pressed to find a movie that contains more blood than this one. To give you an idea for the type of film this is combine Kill Bill with Braindead (Dead Alive) and that's roughly the outcome of this ridiculously over-the-top Asian revenge movie.
To start - the acting sucks, but it is forgivable in the grand scheme of things because going into this film you are fully aware of the circumstances due to this film being hard to find and not one that someone simply stumbles upon at the local Blockbuster. Though, the direction is amazing utilizing stereotypical Asian kung-fu cinematography with shaky close-ups and rapid facial close-ups in pivotal scenes.
The music in this movie is suitable, though what I will give it credit for is it certainly gets your blood pumping getting you just that much more into this ridiculous blood-fest.
That is to say, the star of this film is the over-the-top use of blood to create a huge shock value even within the first 2 minutes! This movie kicks it up at the very beginning and very rarely lets up except for a brief moment of character development which is why this is a 4.5/5 instead of a 5. But the use of blood is very comical and is used in spurts very similar to that in Braindead and Kill Bill. This overuse of blood also creates a darkly humorous mood that is very appealing if you are in the right mood. Be sure to watch this movie expecting to laugh out loud at moments that compose of pure ridiculousness and extremeness (is that a word?).
But in all seriousness I can't remember the last time I have been so pleased viewing a movie that I had such low expectations for to turn out to be some of the most fun I have had at the movies. -

Let's face it, you don't really need to read a review before watching this movie. It's a girl in the sailor suit uniform with a machine gun for an arm and a penchant for turning enemies into hamburger meat. If that sounds delicious (There's a lot of food related gore), then this is your movie. If you are grossed out by excessive blood and murder, need a lot of character development, rational thought, or if you end up being frustrated by unanswered questions, then this isn't your movie. For the rest of us, kick back and let the bloodletting begin.

If Planet Terror was over the top with Cherry Darling in her leg with a machine gun,then you haven't seen the end of twisted stuff because here comes a teenage girl that seeks vengeance with her machine gun arm killing ninjas & a clan of psychos.It gets messy & very bloody.

The film is a gore-fest & so over the top.There's some funny moments & twisted characters.I found the film to be entertaining with some decent effects but also in the mix,some bad CGI & cheesy effects.Just expect a wild film with plenty of gore & gallons of blood spraying everywhere.

MCT:June 27, 2008OMG! This is one crazy movie, this is what happens what Japan makes a grindhouse movie. It make Planet of Terror look like Kiddyland. The amount of blood in this film is truly awe inspiring. The main character looses her arm and then gets a machine gun attachment for it, reminds me of Barret from FF7. If this sounds like your cup-o-tea then check this out....
