I wanted to rate this movie higher for the subject matter, but the style of the film didn't do it justice. It's based on a true story, but clearly has been appropriated by the melodrama typical of Bollywood. At times I found the dialogue and portrayal of the characters simplistic and implausible given the conditions they were living under. If you want to see a more accurate account of Afghan life, then watch "Osama" and "The Kite Runner".
